Today's featured company is Mayaworks and it features a variety of vibrant and beautiful items handmade by women in Guatemala. They are a fair trade, nonprofit organization that works to empower Maya women and their familes by providing a marketplace for their carefully crafted goods.
Mayaworks partners with 125 artisans in six communites in the central highlands of Guatemala. These artisans are paid a fair wage and are able to access microcredit loans to start or grow their business, literacy and skills training, and scholarships to send their children to school.

in the traditional Guatemalan woven style that is so beautiful while still maintaining its strength
